What Cavemen Can Teach You About Leadership

In today’s cutting-edge business world, we constantly applaud the next big thing, the next best idea, or even the next big thinker. While I’m always one to tout innovation, sometimes it’s helpful to look back. In this case, we’ll be looking way back. Neanderthals lived approximately 250,000 years ago in present-day Eurasia. While the species eventually became extinct, their traits (and DNA) are nearly identical to modern humans – and such, their legacy has far outlived their bodies. Evidence suggests that their brain capacity was higher than ours, lending to their “superhuman” strength and crystal-clear vision. However, brute force wasn’t enough to win then, and it certainly isn’t sufficient now. Here’s what we can learn from this prehistoric people, applicable for today’s leaders.
