Since the last time we spoke with GoPro founder and CEO Nick Woodman, some things have changed. Over the last year and half, he’s cut out a lot of the “dude’s” from everyday conversation, had another kid and led his company through one of the most successful initial public offerings of 2014. Speaking after his company’s first earnings report as a public company–which investors’ didn’t enjoy particularly much–Woodman discussed the “fun” associated with leading an 800-person hardware firm that’s now listed on the Nasdaq. The 39-year-old GoPro chief, who is worth $2.6 billion, also talked about his company’s good fortune in hiring new president Tony Bates from and why he doesn’t read too much into the daily fluctuations of GoPro’s stock. Below is an abridged version of our conversation.
