Clearly, T-Mobile CEO John Legere doesn’t mince words and knows how to toot the company horn with strategic timing. Earlier this week, the ‘Un-carrier’ announced a week-long, free “test drive” campaign for iPhone 5S starting this Monday, 6/23. Of course, this was coincident with the announcement of Amazon’s new Fire smartphone, with its unique ‘dynamic perspective’ technology, which was announced as an AT&T exclusive, much to Legere’s chagrin. Well played? It seems so and Legere has taken to a blog post proclaiming that not only has T-Mo signed-up over 12,000 iPhone 5S test drives for next week already (in only about 36 hours), but the ‘Un-carrier’ is also taking shots at other carriers offering their new ‘Music Freedom’ program, which allows free streaming from all the major services like , Spotify, iTunes, Rhapsody, and iHeartRadio, that won’t impact data use limits.
