The hue and cry about the quality of care in the nation’s largest integrated health care system – the Veterans Health Administration in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – should be balanced by some general facts about performance. Given our national commitment and personal debts to our Veterans, it is certainly fair for the VA healthcare system to be held to a high standard.
