France Claims Gains In Airstrikes Against Mali Islamists

Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in an interview Sunday that the operations had stopped “the terrorists.” Without France’s intervention, the Islamist rebels would have advanced to Bamako, the Malian capital, he said.
