U.S. takes 1st step in scrapping meat-labelling law Canada, Mexico abhor

The U.S. Congress took a first step Wednesday in backing away from a continental trade war, with lawmakers voting repeal a disputed meat-labelling law that has prompted threats of tariffs from Canada against a range of U.S. products including wine, chocolate and frozen orange juice.
