Dozens dead after Syrian rebels launch simultaneous attacks on government troops

Members of the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and other Syrian rebel factions launched simultaneous attacks on army checkpoints, police headquarters, and the governor’s office in northwestern Syria on Monday, triggering hours-long clashes that left 35 troops and rebels dead.
