On Thursday, Microsoft announced it was cutting 18,000 jobs – or about 14% of its full-time workforce. It’s the largest layoff in the company’s history, and 12,500 of these jobs are related to the Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s Devices and Services business. Now, Microsoft has also informed thousands of its contract workers that they, too, will be affected by the tech giant’s decision to drastically reduce staff.
