Harrison Ford Doesn't Need 'Blade Runner 2'

In what is both one of the strangest bits of would-be casting news and what feels like the start of a potentially terrible new trend, Alcon Entertainment, affiliated with Warner Bros., officially offered Harrison Ford an offer to reprise his role in their intended Blade Runner 2. What makes this unusual is that the Time Warner based company made the offer being public press release*. This wasn’t a behind-the-scenes negotiation, but rather what amounts to an open letter asking Harrison Ford to come back. There are two specific conclusions to draw from yesterday’s unorthodox press release. Doing casting negotiations out in the open is a terrible idea. And Harrison Ford really doesn’t need to be doing Blade Runner 2.
