This is truly the breakout year for driving awareness on women and girls’ issues through hashtag activism. Some have a professional women’s focus — #leanin, #changetheratio. Others focus on empowerment — #girlsrising, #womenshould — or girls in danger — #bringourgirlsback and #wearesilent.
